Welcome to the 2026- 2027 Season!
The Summit Symphony is back! Our 89th season is here, filled with a wonderful mix of music that we know and love, paired with some of the amazing new works from composers working today, as we begin our celebration of great American music- past, present, and future. Come join us for performances that will delight your senses!
Our season begins on October 4th with our Family Concert, this year called “The Orchestra Grows Up!” Looking forward to December 6th, the Symphony will be joined by pianist Carlos Avila for Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto no. 2. Music by 2025 Classical Woman of the Year Jessie Montgomery will open the concert, and it will conclude with Brahms’ triumphant First Symphony.
On March 14th, we’ll take a trip back in time to early 19th-century Vienna, with music by Mozart and Beethoven. Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony will start us off in a jolly mood. This symphony was a big influence on Beethoven, and his mighty “Eroica ” Symphony will take us on a heroic journey.
And speaking of epic journeys, our season finale on May 16th will feature Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a vivid telling of the “Arabian Nights” that gives every section of the orchestra its moment in the limelight. Cellist Andres Sánchez, winner of the 2026 Sphinx Competition, will also return to perform Saint-Saëns’ lyrical Cello Concerto.
Through your support, the Summit Symphony has been able to provide music to the community through concerts that have always been admission-free.
